♦ Process / Planning
In collaboration with Dr. Folliard, our goal is to bring an experiential opportunity with and a greater awareness of new music to the Augustana University School of Music.
For this project, I (Connor Gibbs) am asking for volunteers* from the faculty and students of Augustana University to perform on one of three concerts – each to have different repertoire. I am open to helping with finding repertoire, but I want to honor ideas from you first. — (See requirements below.)
* reminder: faculty from the School of Music will receive a $250 stipend, per Dr. Folliard
Contact me with ideas, questions, repertoire, or to indicate your interest. Once I receive repertoire from interested participants, I will program accordingly. At this stage (September 2023), I am not looking for specific repertoire to "fill any gaps." I have "sewn" together several patchwork concerts before, and find it a fun and interesting challenge. For this project, I would not like to limit any repertoire you are interested in.
I will plan to invite a few guests to add a more pieces to this series, however:
This is part of a larger goal to broaden music students’ perspective (especially at Augustana University) and promote performance of newer music locally and regionally.
