Program Note

Beyond the Stars is an imagination of the world beyond outer space from the perspective of two young friends. The two young friends are playing, imagining the cosmos itself dancing. These imagined dances differ in character, tempo, and emotional mood; the ideas of discovery and uncertainty inspire excitement, whereas the knowledge of stars dying creates room for pause. The final dance resolves cheerfully with a smile: "What lies beyond the stars?"
