Program Note

Not Knowing combines randomly generated strings from text generators to create a jagged poem representing scattered thoughts created by fear and anxiety. The work leaps about without remaining in one stable key, although certain motives are rooted in repetition. Various sound effects including handclapping, speech, sibilants, and humming allow for this song to feature a wide palette of color without any accompaniment.
